This is how my week went.

Hello Dear Ones,
What have I been up to? I think rather than go over the things I have been doing since I last posted; I will just recap this past week.

We just got back from visiting our daughter and her family, and had a wonderful time. Very busy but just absolutely wonderful. Anytime grandparents get some one on one time with their grandchildren, it has to be wonderful.LOL

We both were very tired when we returned and I guess my immune system must have been suppressed,as I came down with a very bad cold this week and it kinda threw me for a loop.

Not confined to bed just not feeling up to par, so my dh suggested that I give in to it and rest. So I did , he didn't have to twist my arm , as I felt real punky. I did however get some much needed sleep. I also got to do some blogging, which I was thankful for. I so miss not being able to visit. I even got to work on some of my other blogs. I guess since this recession has hit and we like everyone else are watching our pennies the only decorating that I am able to do is the free stuff i get here in blogland. LOL

Lord willing, Next week I have got to get moving when my feet hit the floor, as things around here have kinda took care of themselves. I mean as far as the housework goes. My dh has taken such good care of me this week, and I am so grateful to him.I am a blessed woman!!
Well since I didn't get many chores done this week I guess there is not a whole lot to talk about tonight, other than I want to start journaling here on this blog more faithfully.

Writing what my day or week is like is so great because I get to have a record for our children to read after we have gone. But not real soon. LOL
So I think I might say good night, and sleep well.
Hugs and blessings,
Sue

So much has been going on since I last posted, and again I don't know where to start; so what does one do?

You just begin where you are at, and that is sitting here on the couch, watching Andy Griffith, and trying to get back into blogging. My friend Vee, once said that the longer you stay away from blogging the easier it becomes to stay away, and that is a very true statement.

I really enjoy blogging and meeting new friends, and I have learned so much from all of you. I just celebrated my one year of blogging on my other blog and just can't understand where the year has gone. It has been one of the most exciting and rewarding years of my life.

I am so thankful to each and everyone who takes the time to stop by and read what meager words I have written. I try and right what's on my heart, and to tell of my day. And why anyone would be interested I have no idea. lol

I have always written in a journal, but since I have discovered blogging, which to me is a type of journal; I find that I am doing more of that!! so here is how my day has gone......

After devotions with dh this morning, we decided to run errands together today, I always enjoy this as it gives us more quality time together. One of the joys of being home with just the two of you is the freedom to just jump in the car and go.

We had lunch at Chic-fil-a , and just had some enjoyable conversations, I didn't get to much housework done today, just a few loads of laundry. But that's okay, as there is always tomorrow, Lord willing.

I have been really giving our home a very good cleaning since the grandkids left. I have washed every wall downstairs, windows are clean, every whatnot also, and believe me there are a lot of them. lol
I don't know why we women love stuff, or rather let me say I do.

I finally finished last week with the downstairs but haven't yet started on the upstairs. So I did get some fall decorations put up and that was a lot of fun.

I guess I will try and get to the upstairs next week as we have a lot of activities planned at the church this week.
Well, this is how my day has gone, not to much, just having some me time, and it seems as I get older I so look forward to having more. lol

I will close this post this evening now , as I want to work on my other blog, My prayer tonight, is for sweet rest to envelope you and that your spirit will be renewed.
Blessings,
Sue

So much has happened since I last posted on this blog until I don't know where to begin. So rather than go into a lot of details of what I have been doing or not doing, I think I will just begin to begin again. LOL So please bear with me.

Last night our oldest granddaughter who lives in another state, called and said she was off from her job for a few days and wanted to come for a visit as she knew her two cousins were here and she had not seen them for a few years So we told her "sure we would love to have you come here and we knew Maddie and Will would love to see her too."

So today in anticipation of her arrival I have been cleaning and getting the other bedroom ready, not knowing there was still another surprise waiting for us........

While on the way to the airport to pick her up, she called and said she had landed and had her boyfriend with her, her papa asked "what boyfriend, no way I know your father did not send you here with a "boyfriend", she said "yes papa here talk to him", and this voice came on the phone "hello Mr. ....... I am telling you I could see steam coming from his ears. " Just wait I will have a talk with my son."  So when we got to the terminal but who pops his head out, her brother, Gabe. You talk about relief Whew!!!

They did pull one over on us, we were so glad to see them, so tonight as I write this we have four grand children upstairs, the boys in one room and the girls in the other.

Since they arrived today they haven't stopped talking and exploring the farm. and when I say exploring I mean exploring..... so tonight after eating watermelon on the porch, their papa decided to go and check on the livestock, while they were taking their showers, just had an inclination too.

And what did he find ,someone had left the donkey's  gate open and the donkeys were running foot loose and fancy free.. needless to say he was not a happy camper, and you know that old blame game well it was played at our house tonight. LOL. He wasn't upset, but he did talk to them before we had devotions with them. When our grandchildren come one of our favorite things to do is to sit down with them and read the bible and pray with them.

Tonight as we listened to their request I was thrilled to know that God had ordained this time for us to be together to share his word and to pray together as a family. we read the 15th chapter of Proverbs, and tomorrow we will read chapter 16. I love Proverbs and there are so many valuable lessons to teach and learn.

I must close for now as my eyes are about to close, but I have so much more I would like to share, but it will have to wait for another day, we have blueberries and peas to pick and preserve. So may your rest be peaceful!!!!
Hugs,
 Sue

This is what I have been up too!

I just did the silliest thing, I have been wanting to start posting on Kelli's  Show and Tell on Fridays. And had worked up this post on being at Mothers and showing pictures of her dolls,I did, but decided to check the rules again, and the criteria was that it had to be your item and since I am a stickler for obeying rules, I took it off and redid it , but did not post as Show and Tell. LOL

So from now on if I post on someone's meme I will be sure to check the guidelines.

I am still very busy, canning and weeding my gardens, I was out weeding this morning and thinking how much I like to see a garden clean and I love to make it clean, trust me I would love to not have weeds, but since we have them I just go in there and pull them out and love to see the before and then the after. I haven't shown any before because i am to ashamed to let anyone know that I let them get in that shape. LOL

I have the worst case of poison ivy or oak I don't know which one it is , all I know is that I am itching and can't scratch, and that is not fun. I have lived all my life and have been exposed to it always and have never had a problem with it. It must be an age thing or either my immune system is out of whack.

I have been trying to cure it myself for about a week now and have had no luck, so my dh suggested that I call our dermatologist today and they can't see me until Tuesday. Go figure, I would hate to have something really seriously wrong with me. LOL.

You see I do not like to go to doctors, I believe in trying to cure things naturally with lots of prayer, and that is what I have been doing. I am still going to work on it and if its gets better I will not go.

Tomorrow, Lord willing, we will be freezing and canning the last of the corn. Mother and I both will be so glad to have this behind us, as our field peas and tomatoes will soon be coming off.

Hopefully the barn swallows will be leaving this weekend, They are getting so bad about me even coming out my door, and they have really harassed me. I really need to get our porch in order.

We will soon be having grandchildren come for a visit, It has been a year since last we saw them. And we are both looking forward to their visit, and they have been anxious too.

I think this catches me up on our doings........ Now for some thoughts..........

I have such a heavy burden for our Country and where we are going. We are a Country that was founded on God's principals and we just seem to be going so far away from them. We are soon approaching a celebration of when it was established and I hope we all thank God for all of these blessings, that have been given to us with such a high price.  I love this Country and I thank God everyday for the privilege of being born here. God has been so good to me and my family.

If by chance anyone reads this post, I ask that you join me in prayer for our Nation and for our leaders, that they will make Godly decisions.
Hugs,
Sue
Proverbs 14:34~Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

Mother is asking us to sit at her table and dine, and we did. She loves to serve her family and others!
Just before really enjoying this bounty! Thank you Mother for the most delicious food and fellowship!

Monday's labor !! Thank the Lord all sealed!

Good Morning,
I thought I would stop and post about some things that we have been doing. Sunday mother had part of the family over for lunch; my two sisters could not be there, so it was my brother, his family and my dh and I who came. As usual Mother just out did herself. What was amazing to us was that she said everything had been prepared that morning. She is 81 yrs. young and can still out work any of us!!! LOL We had a wonderful time of fellowship, and did not get home untill 8 p.m.

Monday was canning day , we canned corn, about 20 dozen were pulled, shucked, cut off the cob and processed, my 10 doz. yielded exactly 18 pts. There is no better feeling that to go gather something that you have grown prepare it and preserve it. I was finished with everything by 1 p.m., now how fresh is that. God is so good to us, in that He has provided the means in order for us to do this. Again I so humbly thank You Lord!!

We also left and went to get shrubs for a house that my dh is landscaping. He does landscaping as well as farm. A very busy man!!! When we came home, it was fairly warm, but I went and fertilized all of my flowers , let me tell you that was a job. I am so thankful that I persisted and now I can watch them grow and enjoy their beauty! Again thank you Father for giving me the desire to press on, even though I was so tired.

That is the way it should be with our walk with the Lord, we must keep pressing on, no matter what life hurls at us. I am sure that the Apostle Paul probably felt tired and and discouraged from time to time especially when life was really kicking him. But as I read in the word he found the strength to go on , and gave us the encouraging words~~~~Philippians 3:14~I press toward  the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

None of us have a perfect life here on this earth, nor will we ever have a perfect life. We all have struggles to deal with and they are all different. But God knows what we can handle and when things get to the point where we feel we have gone our last mile, He steps in and gives us just what we need to continue pressing for the prize that is in Christ. And for that I am so thankful, and "Lord I love you so much"..........

My goodness! I had not planned to say all that!

Tuesday was al little more laid back but still worked, I did laundry and paid some bills! (Not one of my favorite things to do). We went on our date night, came home and I watered some plants while my sweet one shooed the birds away that were trying to attack me(These are the ones who made a nest on the porch, and I am really praying that they will soon take their little family and move own). Please don't get me wrong, I love birds and don't mind accommodating them but when it gets to the place where you can't go outside your door without being harassed then it is time to go!LOL... Seriously they will soon be gone, and then maybe I will be able to bring some order back!

Today is Wednesday, and it is back to canning corn! we did not do as much as we did the other day as it is not fully ready. I preserve a lot of fruits and vegetables because our children like to take some back home with them when they visit. And that gives us great pleasure to be able to help them.... The corn was gathered and prepared and in the jars(I just heard one ,lid  ping, what a lovely sound),all by 10 a.m.!  One more day and I think we will be finished with the corn!!!  My plans for today are to finish laundry, and clean our bathroom and hopefully finish that half cleaned laundry room. You know the one that I started on last week. LOL. Hope you have a super Wednesday..............
Hugs Sue
